About Dr. Usher

and how these conditions can affect learning. With this knowledge, they can lower barriers to learning and improve a student’s overall quality of life. “
Dr. Adine Ray Usher began her vocation as a classroom teacher for physically disabled students in the New York City public schools. Her path expanded into special education administration, university teaching, and consulting for school systems and families across New York, Florida, Colorado, Connecticut, and New Jersey. She has also shared her expertise internationally—visiting, lecturing, and consulting in programs serving physically disabled students in numerous countries. In recent years, Dr.
Usher has been training teachers and parents at the ACTS OF LIFE – Growing Giants Therapeutic School in Morogoro, helping shape compassionate, evidence-informed classrooms for children with neuromuscular challenges..

In four focused areas, we clarify cerebral palsy and related conditions, connect causes of brain injury to classroom realities, highlight functional impacts on movement, communication and cognition, and equip you with practical, compassionate strategies you can use right away.

We combine a comprehensive core guide with scholarly articles and short case videos. Each session mixes concise reading, facilitated discussion, and simple practice tasks—turning evidence into everyday classroom routines.;
